qxx.uk is an independent UK corporate & tax intelligence tool built by a small team of compliance engineers and B2B risk specialists. We saw a recurring problem in UK procurement and finance teams: verifying a supplier's VAT number, checking whether a company is still active, or confirming the registered address before releasing a large payment — all of which are slow, manual, and error-prone when done against the official registers one at a time. We built this tool to solve that problem.
Every record on this site is retrieved in real time from the official public APIs of Companies House, HM Revenue & Customs and the Office for National Statistics (via Postcodes.io). We don't produce editorial content — we surface authoritative data with clean presentation and instant export tools.
For risk teams, e-commerce sellers and developers, we provide a simple JSON API for automated supplier verification and compliance workflows.
Our Team & Background
qxx.uk is developed by a UK-based engineering team with backgrounds in B2B compliance, fintech and open-data infrastructure. The project was born from direct experience with the pain of manual supplier verification in procurement workflows — where a single overlooked dissolved company or invalid VAT number can cost tens of thousands of pounds in lost input tax or undelivered goods.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any UK government body. We are an independent private company that uses publicly available government data under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Security & Compliance
- All traffic encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. No data transmitted in plaintext.
- We do not store the content of user lookups. Query terms are processed in real time and discarded.
- API rate limiting protects against abuse. Free tier limited to IP-based quotas.
